SCCC Newsletter December 2021

The past 17 months have been grueling for many of us personally & professionally. Here is hoping that the preverbal ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ is finally shining bright for you as you read this.  Many people have endured job changes, relocations, businesses closing or new ownerships or income streams slowed and this has certainly affected our Sports Council membership.  It is finally time to re-group and get back to regular meetings and supporting sports endeavors in our community. It’s is imperative as an organization that we support all promotors bringing events to our Community.  We are updating the past member list  & database, if you have anyone you want added, please send to us. The anticipation is now over for the search to replace our inaugural management company for the Paradise Coast Sports Complex.  If you have not heard, the new company who took over on 11/26/21.  It is Sports Facilities Companies;  We have recently met them and look forward to working with them for successful transition.  We all know the PCSC, is beautiful and has tremendous potential to not only be a very integral component of our community but to also put Naples on the map finally,  as showcase sports & event destination.   This goal can be a reality now with PCSC, our original Regional Park; North Collier, and our newest addition; Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park.  This trifecta of Parks gives Naples presence on the sports industry national level. We look forward to supporting SFC in their new role. Naples is booming again with many sports aside from the field sports at the Parks from Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Running Races, Water sports and Pickleball. Naples onslaught of development & new residents is a sure sign we are in for brighter times ahead. We are anxious to reconvene and support SFC by simply executing our mission;

“The Mission of this organization, the Sports Council of Collier County, is to grow a network of public and private partnerships that helps provide resources, accessibility and opportunities that encourages individuals and organizations to participate in sports in the community”.

For this to be accomplished and improve our community we need membership support. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting to meet SFC & see how you can be an integral part of SCCC.
